John L. Williams, 82, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away peacefully on May 13, 2022 from complications after brain surgery.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022 for immediate family, close relatives and friends at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.
John was born April 10, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lawrence and Helen Williams.
He was a graduate of Hogan High School. He then completed a two-year apprenticeship to become a certified Glazier like his father. For many years John worked and also owned a glazing company. He has been a life long member of the Glaziers Union.
John eventually became a real estate investor, owning and managing multiple properties.
He had a passion for dancing and lived for Saturday nights on the dance floor with Leslie his partner of 27 years.
John was an animal lover until the day he died. His last furry companions Ava and Anna will miss him greatly.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son John Timothy Williams; brother Terry Williams; brother-in-law Robert Poduch.
John is survived by his sons Clifford and Mark Williams; five grandsons; his three sisters Martha Poduch, Sharon DeGraeve, Elaine (Alan) Domian; sister-in-law Charlene Williams; many nieces and nephews. His partner Leslie Wollnik and her daughters Kim and Julie and their families.
The family is greatly indebted to Ascend Hospice and the numerous health care staff that provided care for John.
