Jimmie Earl Laden, born October 5, 1948, in Salina, Kansas, passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family on October 6th, 2026. He was the son of Harry and Darlene Laden and the second of five children.
Jimmie married the love of his life, Sandra “Sandi” Laden, on June 17, 1976. Together, they built a life filled with family, laughter, and countless memories. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Brandy and Stacy, a proud grandfather to Kaitlyn, Megan, Caden, and Dalen, and a loving great-grandfather to Tobias.
Jimmie proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to serving his community through his career with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. He retired in 2013.
Those who knew Jimmie will remember his easygoing nature, his love of good company, and his ability to enjoy the simple things in life. He loved socializing with family and friends, watching movies, shooting pool, hunting, fishing, and enjoying a cold beer. More than anything, Jimmie cherished the people around him and the time spent making memories with those he loved.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Darlene Laden.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandi Laden; daughters, Brandy Moore and Stacy Hamilton (Clark); grandchildren, Kaitlyn Breedlove (Dylan), Megan Switzer (Jordan), Caden and Dalen Hamilton; great-grandson, Tobias Breedlove; siblings, Janet Mitchell (Bill), Laura Greenwood (Mike), Jerry Laden (Julie), and Judy Smedley; and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him with love and laughter.
Jimmie leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will miss his presence, his stories, his laughter, and the special place he held in their lives.
Visitation at Amos Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8th from 5 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 9th at 10:30 AM also at Amos Family Funeral Home. Burial at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens following the service.
The World is diminished because he is gone. But it is still a better place because he was here.
