Jean Watts

July 20, 1932 — October 10, 2025

Greeley, CO

Jean Watts went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2025. Jean was born on July 20, 1932 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Tommie and Avo White. She was married to Paul Watts, and together they shared 49 wonderful years with one another. Jean is survived by her children Joe David Bowers, Cynthia Bowers, and Janie Watts; brother Alan White; grandchildren Karen and Kevin Bowers, and many nieces and nephews.

Jean started her own picture frame and art supply business, running that successfully for many years. She then decided to become a nurse, and courageously went back to school and worked as a nurse until her retirement. Jean was ambitious and loved learning new things. She was very involved with her church and enjoyed serving as a Sunday school teacher, singing in the choir, and serving as a Deacon.

Jean was known for her sewing and quilting skills. Her sewing machines had sewn many miles and were her pride and joy. She particularly enjoyed making lap quilts and slipper socks for the VA and nursing homes. Jean never sold anything that she made, but rather gave them away to others. Jean had a huge heart, and was always concerned about the well being of others. She always wanted to know that others were okay and in good health.

Jean spent the last three years in Greeley, Colorado, where she lived closer to her son. Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. While she is in a better place now, she will be terribly missed.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawnee Presbyterian Church, 6837 Nieman Rd Shawnee, KS 66203.
