Jack Dennis Reeves, born on February 11, 1946, in Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2026, in Shawnee, Kansas, at the age of 80. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jack attended Sidney Lanier High School, graduating in 1964. He married Mary Pflumm, on February 24, 1976 and moved to Shawnee, KS.
Jack dedicated his professional life to working as a plumbing contractor. His commitment to quality plumbing is evident in the 1000’s of custom homes he plumbed around the Kansas City area.
Outside of his professional life, his favorite pastimes included woodworking, camping, weekends at the lake, boating, and traveling to Texas to visit family.
Above all, Jack's heart was most full when he was surrounded by his family. He was a constant presence at his grandchildren’s games. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and his legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the values he instilled in those around him.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Willie Clemons Reeves; his mother, Minnie Lee Ratley Reeves; his brothers, C.L. Reeves and Billy Reeves, and his sister Roxie Hays.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Reeves. He leaves behind his oldest son, Sean Reeves (Annie) of Austin, TX, and their children, Kylie, Ashby, and Eadan; and his children with Mary, Kimberly Miller (Shaun) of Lenexa, KS, and their children, Nicholas and Matthew, and Kyle Reeves (Nicole) of Olathe, KS, and their daughter, Amelia; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 from 10 to 11am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS. Following Mass, a graveside service will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, also in Shawnee.
