Gerald E. Markham

Gerald E. Markham, 59, of Shawnee, KS, passed away, Saturday, March 3, 2018. A celebration of life will be held from 2 - 4 p.m., Saturday, March 10, at the Amos Family Funeral Home.

Gerry was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana to James Markham and Wanita Markham. Moved to Rockport, Missouri where he would graduate from high school after being an elated trumpet player in the high school band that won over a college band by playing, Get It On by Chase. Gerry was also a star athlete in every sport. He went on to play basketball in college. Then he moved to Kansas City, got a job at Wulfsberg Electronics. A very intelligent man, he enjoyed listening to music, gardening, and cooking. If he wasn’t sure how to do something - he would figure it out. He built a three level deck on the back of his house, sketched out the plans on a napkin. Incredible man. Introduced me to the best steak in the world, loved our son more than he will ever know. Collected the most interesting group of friends, which are the BEST. Made great salsa, steak and hamburgers. He loved the beach - and his couch buddies: Libby and Sammy. My Sweetheart: You leave behind a void that is beyond filling. Truly a privilege that you chose me to be your wife. I will forever love and miss you. XOXO
