A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30am on Saturday, July 11, 2026, with a funeral service at 10:30am, both at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas. She will be laid to rest at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens in Shawnee, KS.

Gail was born on June 18, 1936, in Worthington, Minnesota, to Lester and Sarah Clark. She graduated from Worthington Senior High School before earning her bachelor's degree from Mankato State University. She later received a master's degree in Literature from the University of Kansas.

On June 10, 1956, Gail married the love of her life, Arthur Prieb. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

For many years, Gail dedicated her life to education as an English teacher at St. Joseph High School and later at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She inspired generations of students through her love of literature, language, and learning. As Head of the English Department, she was a respected leader, mentor, and advocate for academic excellence. Beyond the classroom, she coached the school's debate team, directed the theatre department, and encouraged countless students to discover their confidence, creativity, and voice. Her commitment to the performing arts continues through the Gail Prieb Theatre Scholarship, a lasting tribute to her passion for education and the students she loved. Her unwavering dedication to teaching left an enduring impact that will be remembered for generations.

Gail and Art were longtime members of Faith Lutheran Church in Prairie Village, Kansas, and later became active members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Throughout her life, Gail generously shared her time and talents through volunteer service with Harvesters, Metropolitan Lutheran Ministry, and her church communities.

More than any accomplishment, Gail cherished her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her life, and she found immense joy in celebrating their milestones, supporting their endeavors, and spending time together. She embraced life with enthusiasm, kindness, and an unfailing sense of optimism.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Sarah Clark, and by her beloved husband, Arthur Prieb.

She is survived by her children, Greg Prieb (Paulette Prieb), Kim Prieb, and Pam Prieb Reed (Henry Reed); seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many extended family members, former students, colleagues, and dear friends who will deeply miss her.
