Frances M. Parks

Frances Merritt Parks, 97, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away January 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Parks and 3 siblings. Frances leaves a son, Bill and wife Susan, of Portland, Oregon; daughter, Linda, of Topeka, Kansas; 1 granddaughter; 4 great grandchildren; nieces/nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.

Born in Hyattsville, Maryland, she was a long-time Midwest resident, and a working woman most of her adult life.

She spent 8 years as a secretary in the school of business at UMKC (then UKC), followed by a 20-year career as administrative assistant to the chairman of the department of psychiatry at KU Medical Center. After that, Frances worked as a travel agent for over a decade, taking numerous trips abroad.
