Felicitas (Merino) Cordero

June 9, 1927 — December 18, 2023

Kansas City, Missouri

Felicitas (Merino) Cordero, 96, passed away peacefully at her home on December 18, 2023, in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born June 9, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Victoriano Merino and Julia (Flores) Merino.

Throughout the years, Felicitas enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crocheting, making beautiful afghans and doilies for her family. She enjoyed flowers, especially roses, and took special care of her rose bushes in the front yard. As a grandmother, she was able to babysit her beloved grandchildren and create precious memories with them, as they grew up. She was a devout Catholic and belonged to Guardian Angels Catholic Parish for several years. She was dedicated to watching her favorite television shows; Judge Judy, The Price Is Right, and Wheel of Fortune.

Felicitas’ final wish was to be able to stay in her home. She was blessed that her daughter, Caroline, was able to take care of her and honor that wish.

Felicitas is preceded in death by her eldest son, Ernie Cordero, parents Victoriano and Julia Merino, brothers Baltazar, Guadalupe, Jesse, Joe, John, and Victor Merino, sisters Lucy Ascencio, Macaria Gomez, and Vita Merino.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Cordero, Alex (Debra) Cordero, and Caroline Camerillo; grandchildren; Trisha Cordero, Christopher (Michelle) Camarillo, Jessica Camerillo, and Andrew Camerillo; great-grandson Anthony Camarillo. She also leaves behind her beloved family dog, Cinco.
