Ernestine H. Allen, 93, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away March 5, 2009.
Ernestine was born March 12, 1915 in Arcola, Texas to S.E. and Josephine Welch Holman. She was united in marriage in 1945 to William H. Allen who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Ernestine was a proud member of DAR and taught elementary school for over 45 years, mostly at Mark Twain Elementary in Hannibal, Missouri
Ernestine is survived by her daughter Mary Jo Allen of Lenexa, and by her grandchildren Emily and David Hoops.
She will always be remembered for her "can do" spirit, her sense of style and class, and for her faith. Some of her hard earned money will be donated to Park Church in Hannibal, Missouri to help send kids to camp in her memory.
Memorial Service
Family services will be held at a later date.
