Elaine Louise Sutton

November 15, 1939 — December 26, 2025

Elaine Sutton, passed away peacefully of natural causes. She was a devoted non-denominational Christian who maintained close relationships with many friends from the Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois. Elaine had an enduring love for the Chicago Cubs and cherished every moment spent with her family.


She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, brother James Burton, and her dear husband, James Sutton, to whom she was united in matrimony on November 15, 1958. Together, Elaine and James built a life filled with love and devotion that spanned decades.


Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her surviving sons, James P. Sutton and Daniel J. Sutton, as well as her four grandchildren: Katelyn M. Sutton, Alexis C. Sutton, Ashley N. Pappas, and Amanda M. Price. Her legacy continues with her six great-grandchildren: Wesley D. Swanson, Lucy M. Swanson, Ophelia G. Price, Bryson N. Pappas, Aria M. Pappas, and Cash P. Aguilar. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Burton, along with a host of other relatives and dear friends.


Elaine will be laid to rest beside her late husband, James, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. A celebration of life for both Elaine and James will be held in the near future, where family and friends will gather to honor their memory and the love they shared.


Elaine’s warm spirit, unwavering faith, and deep commitment to her family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
