Dee Anna Knockemus

Dee Anna Knockemus, 70, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on September 18, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on January 2, 1956, in Monroe, Louisiana, Dee lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, generosity, and a joyful spirit. She grew up in the small town of Baskin, Louisiana, on Frazier Road with her parents and two brothers.

After earning a bachelor's degree in Finance from Louisiana Tech University in 1977, Dee began her career in the banking industry. Later, she transitioned to the hospitality industry, where she worked as a controller and internal auditor. Her work allowed her to travel, and she especially enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing new places along the way.

Outside of her career, Dee found joy in reading, cooking, traveling, and watching her favorite Hallmark and Lifetime movies and shows. She also loved spending time with family and friends. In 2019, she fulfilled a lifelong dream, traveling to France. There, she embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, exploring sites and towns while attending cooking classes.

Dee loved a challenge in the kitchen and could often be found competing in chili and BBQ competitions in the Kansas City area. For many years, she hosted an annual brunch that brought together family and friends, creating cherished memories for all who attended.

Above all, Dee embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. One memorable example was taking up tap dancing with friends simply for the fun of it. Her laughter, adventurous spirit, and love of life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dee is survived by her husband, Kevin Knockemus; her children, Geoffrey Brian Foote (Melanie), and Debra “DeeDee” Walker (Rusty); and her grandchildren, Phoenix LeJeune and Charles “Rick” Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Floye Frazier, brothers, Charles and Marcus Frazier.

A graveside service for family will be held on September 25th 2026 at 11:00am at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas.
