David Eugene Allen

David Eugene Allen, 75, of Merriam, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026. He was born on August 5, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri.

David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. His service reflected his dedication, and commitment to his country.

David was a devoted husband and father who loved his family deeply. As a skilled plumber in the construction industry, he took great pride in his work and contributed his knowledge, dedication, and expertise to numerous projects throughout his career.

Outside of work, David had a lifelong passion for cars and trucks. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of vehicles with those around him. He always had the cleanest truck on the block. He was a member of American Legion, Post 370 and a volunteer at the Tiny Pantry Times. He served as a board member for the Antioch Hills Homes Association for numerous years and was the constructor of all of the parade floats for the association entered into the City of Merriam, Turkey Creek Festival Parades which won many awards. 

David was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Evelyn Allen; his brother, Daniel Allen; and his sister, Alberta Allen.

He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his wife, Connie Allen; his daughters, Kelli Allen and Michelle Allen; his son, Craig Allen (Taraina); his three grandchildren, Charlie Glenn, Kenzlie and Sophie Allen; his two nephews; and many other family members and friends.

David’s life was defined by his hard work, passion, obsession for vehicles, and the love he had for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Interment, September 18th, at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 11am.
