Constance "Connie" Acheson

Connie Acheson was born on June 19,1941 in Syracuse, NY to her wonderful parents, Harry and Harvene Miller. She peacefully passed on June 24, 2025 leaving behind her dear husband Dave Acheson (Overland Park, KS) of 62 years, her son John Acheson and wife Stephanie (Shawnee, KS) and their daughter Addison (Shawnee, KS), and her son Jeff Acheson and wife Samantha (Olathe, KS). Connie adored her family! She took great pleasure in offering them guidance, encouragement and creating family gatherings and memories! 

Connie loved her churches always! Old Mission Methodist in Fairway, KS was home for the last several decades where Parables and Pathfinders classes were always cherished.

Connie fulfilled her passion for children by being a classroom teacher for 32 years of which 25 of these years were spent in the Shawnee Mission School District. She later earned a Masters Degree in elementary school counseling and finished her career as a counselor in the district. Throughout the years, she found much happiness in keeping in touch with her former students. 

Her many friends were a huge part of her life and she thanks them for their love and support throughout all the years! Connie found great joy in helping others. She was very thankful for her life and she enjoyed her journey!

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, KS. A funeral service will be at 11:00am on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the Old Mission United Methodist Church in Fairway, KS. She will be laid to rest following the service at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Overland Park, KS.

In memory of Connie, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and to the Old Mission Foundation through the church.
