The unexpected passing of Chris Henson on July 24th is a loss felt deeply in the hearts of those who loved him.
A person of great character, honor, and kindness, Chris treated everyone he met with dignity and respect. An Oklahoma Native, he often joked about his home state but spoke warmly of the formative experiences with family and friends that shaped his values and desire to help others.
Chris earned his Doctor of Pharmacy and dedicated the early part of his career to making a difference in healthcare — whether caring for patients in retail pharmacy, managing research projects for new medications, or guiding corporate compliance.
But his true purpose became clear as he built a life with his wife, Danielle, and their sons, Cook and Beau. Chris realized his greatest calling was at home. He stepped away from the pharmaceutical industry to dedicate himself entirely to his family, pouring his heart, wisdom, and life experience into raising his sons to be people devoted to doing good.
Chris’s legacy of love, integrity, and generosity will live forever in Danielle, Cook, Beau, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
Those surviving to carry his spirit include: Mother and Stepfather: Angela and Bob Kelley. Wife and sons: Danielle, Cook and Beau. Sister: Hannah Henson and stepbrother: Zackry Cashion. Niece and nephew: Aspen and Aven Hightower. Aunt and Uncle: Andrea and Richard Lytle. Uncle and Aunt: Stan and Patty Anglen. Cousins: Tony and Emily Lytle and their children Nora and Max. Amy and Kevin Cross and their children Mala and Samuel. Ben Anglen. Matt and Lily Anglen and their children Elliot, Naomi and Phoebe.
Chris was preceded in death by his Sister Ashley Henson, Father Charles “Charlie” Henson Jr., Grandfather Charles “Bill” Henson Sr., Grandmother Maggie Jean Eversole, Grandmother and Grandfather June and Max Anglen.
Friends and family are invited to support and the family at a visitation on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Dr. Shawnee, KS 66203. The family would welcome donations to any charity that is dearest to your heart in honor of Chris.
