Charles Gray, known for his quick wit and warm heart, passed away on April 30, 2024, in Overland Park, Kansas, at the age of 83. Born in Clarinda, Iowa, on April 18, 1941, Charles led a life filled with love, laughter, and a touch of mischief.
As a skilled Carpenter by trade, Charles brought his craftsmanship and dedication to every project he undertook. When not hard at work with his tools, he could be found rooting for his favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs, or engaging in some friendly competition while playing games with family. His playful spirit extended to the casino, where he enjoyed trying his luck, and he never met an animal he didn't love.
He lost many family members through the years, his father Lawrence (Duke) Gray, Mother Mabel (Herrington) Gray, Brothers Bill (Ruth) Gray, John Gray, Raymond (Diana) Gray, Richard Gray, Tom (Judy) Gray, Daughter Tonya Ann Gray Arcand and Grandson Asher Gray Arcand.
Charles was a devoted husband to his beloved Wife Carol, and a wonderful father to his children. He raised three kids with unwavering love and support, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. He shared many precious moments with his surviving family members, including Son Steve (Janet), Daughter Charl (Danley), and Grandchildren Steven (Jenny), Sean (Abby), Austin, and Anna, as well as Great Granddaughter Kaycee.
In addition to his immediate family, Charles is also remembered fondly by his Sister Dottie, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Those who knew Charles will never forget his kind nature, infectious smile, and boundless humor. He had a joke for every occasion and a heart big enough to make everyone feel special. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and went above and beyond to bring joy to those around him.
In his passing, Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, Charles Gray, a loving husband, a great father, a wonderful grandpa, and a cherished uncle and friend to many.
