Brenda Gayle Martin

Brenda Gayle Martin (née Boyd), aged 78, passed away on August 23, 2024, in Overland Park, Kansas. Born on April 25, 1946, in Columbus, Kentucky, Brenda was a lifelong homemaker, dedicating her life to nurturing her family and imbuing her home with love and faith.

Brenda was a pillar of strength and affection within her family and community. As the eldest of three siblings, she set a remarkable example of compassion and resilience. Her dedication to her faith was evident in her active participation at Crossroads Christian Church in Shawnee, Kansas, where she left a legacy of faith that continues to inspire her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Martin; her son, Darren Martin; her brother, Stephen Boyd; and her grandchildren, Nathan and Ashley Martin, along with many nieces and nephews. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Boyd and Imogene (Boyd) Carter, and her sister, Barbara Baker.

Services to honor Brenda's life will be held at Crossroads Christian Church in Shawnee, Kansas, on Wednesday, September 4th, 2024. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Christian Church in Shawnee, Kansas, honoring Brenda's faith and community.
