Braeden G. Hovermale

Braeden Glenn Hovermale, 22, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away surrounded by his family and close friends on August 27th, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his beloved companion of 16 years, Koda.

Braeden was born July 10th, 2000 in Kansas City, Missouri to Brian and Michele Hovermale. He graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School and attended Johnson County Community College.

Braeden had a quick wit and was great at telling stories, especially when recounting the shenanigans of his Siberian Husky, Koda. He was known for his love of animals and cars.

These included his dogs Koda and Kobe, his 1999 Honda Prelude and his recent pride and joy, a 1993 right-hand drive Toyota Chaser.

He enjoyed longboarding, dirt bike riding, archery, bowling and playing card games. He participated in boy scouts, was a member of the high school choir and studied culinary arts.

Braeden is survived by his parents Brian and Michele Hovermale of Shawnee, KS, his sister Ashley and her husband Zach Whitehurst and their two sons Ryder and Philip of Godard, KS, his older brother, Stephen Hovermale of Shawnee, KS and his younger brother Colby Hovermale of Overland Park, KS.

His Aunts and Uncles that survived him include David Lane and Karen Lane-Hovermale of Minneapolis, MN, Martin and Jill Carroll of Lakeland, FL, Michele Conn of Grayson, GA, Mark

Hovermale of Kansas City, KS, and cousins Megan Conn of Woodstock, GA, and Ryan Conn of Westminster, CO.

Braeden will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, on Saturday, September 3rd at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 pm, also at the funeral home.
