Bill Dean Mosburg passed away peacefully on June 1st, 2025.
Born to Harold and Violet Mosburg on May 14th, 1938, in Clay Center Kansas, Bill lived a long-fulfilled life marked by integrity, hard work, faith, and a deep love for his family. Nothing brought him more pride and joy than the family he built with his loving wife.
He married his true love Nancy on May 9th, 1959, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. They were blessed with 6 children, 16 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren who brought them endless happiness.
Bill began working in the grocery business alongside his brothers at a young age. He then began his entrepreneurial journey into real estate investment, which eventually led him to open Burger Basket—a venture that evolved into the successful franchise Wylie’s. His entrepreneurial spirit continued to thrive when he began selling used restaurant equipment out of the back of his Wylie’s location on 7th Street. What started as a side project grew into his most successful business, B&J Food Service Equipment, which has thrived for over 30 years. Outside of work, Bill loved spending time at the lake, painting, sketching, gardening, and enjoying a good cheeseburger.
Those who knew Bill will remember his kindness, wit, unwavering faith, and generosity. He was a devout Catholic, attending weekly adoration for over 30 years. He had an engine that never stopped running and a heart that never stopped giving. Everything he did was for his family, whom he treasured above all else. Every business venture, every quiet hug, and every act of service helped build the legacy he leaves behind — one rooted in family.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents’ Harold and Violet Mosburg, his brothers’ Calvin, Bruce, Richard, and Geary. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Nancy, and his children Deborah (David) Murray, Carrie (Donnie) Kirk, Scott (Vicky) Mosburg, Thomas (Corrine) Mosburg, Patricia (Paul) Boone, and Molly Mosburg.
