Ardis Ann Athon Burley passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and joy. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Jenny) Carole Burley-Krenzer and Laura Lynne Dyer, and her beloved grandson, Nathaniel (Nate) Emerson Dyer. She is reunited in spirit with her husband, Donald L. Burley, who preceded her in death.
Ardis was an extraordinary mother, a devoted friend, and a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She carried a warm heart that welcomed family, friends, and even strangers into her circle of encouragement. Her laughter and kindness uplifted those around her, reminding everyone of the beauty in everyday life.
A prolific artist, Ardis expressed her joy through her creativity, leaving behind works that reflect her deep love of color, light, nature, and connection. She shared her gifts generously, inspiring others to find courage in their own creative voices.
Her family and friends will remember her not only for her art, but also for her unwavering joy, her gentle wisdom, and her boundless capacity to nurture. Ardis lived as a joyful being, touching lives in ways both simple and profound.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Mid America Pastel Society, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, or Alzheimer's Association- organizations that reflect her love of art, beauty, and compassionate care.
Ardis's spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved, in the art she created, and in the joy she encouraged others to embrace.
Her family will have a visitation from 2-3:00 pm, Saturday, September 27 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Graveside service begin at 3:30 pm, Saturday at the Antioch Pioneer Cemetery, Merriam, KS.
