Anna Grace Manning

Anna Grace Manning passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2026, at Villa St Francis Catholic Care Center in Olathe, in the care of Monarch Hospice. She was surrounded by family.

Anna was born in White Plains, New York, on May 6th, 1944, to Sal and Rose Spinelli, the youngest of three children. Strongly devoted to her faith, she spent time in a convent before attending nursing school. Anna married John Manning in 1972, moving to Overland Park, Kansas, where they raised two children, Therese and Sean.

Anna enjoyed reading and devotional music, and spent much of her time as a caregiver for the children of her neighbors and church. She served as a eucharistic minister at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Overland Park, worked as a daycare provider and volunteer at several local churches (and at least one synagogue) in her community. She assisted at St Mary’s food kitchen, and helped to establish the Hispanic ministry at Holy Cross (despite not speaking Spanish herself).

Anna was preceded in death by John, her husband of 50 years, her parents Sal and Rose, brothers Ray Seoane, and Joe Spinelli, nephew Marc Spinelli, and grandson James Alexander Pummill. She is survived by her daughter Therese (Mike Sr.) Pummill, son Sean (Lilly) Manning, nieces Britt (Tim Fitzgerald) Spinelli and April Stark, grandchildren Michael Jr., Cory, Frankie, Tyler, Jacob, and Joey, brothers- and sisters-in-law Jeremiah (Barbara) Manning Jr, Brian (Andrea) Manning, Kevin Manning, Ann (Gene) Duffy and Mary (Tim) Barber, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 4th at 11:30am at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W 93rd St, Overland Park, KS.
