Virgil Marchand, 90, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away July 10, 2012. He was born May 26, 1922, in Blue Springs, Nebraska, to Edward and Blanche (Simon) Marchand, one of 12 children.
He served in the US Army during WWII on Omaha Beach and in the Battle of the Bulge. Virgil worked for AT&T for over 40 years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary Marchand; daughers Karen Marchand, and Jo Ellen Dyche (David); grandson Josh Barraclough (Heather); great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Stella; and brother Dwight Marchand.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Disabled American Veterans.
