February 19, 1952 — September 12, 2023

Ralph Emery Morris, 71, of Overland Park, KS went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, at his home. Ralph was born the son of Harold Emery and Ella Loree Bussell Morris on February 19, 1952, in Ottawa, KS. Ralph attended school in Overland Park, KS, and graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School.

Ralph spent a number of years in several different branches of the military beginning with a stint in the Navy at Adak, Alaska. After his years of active service Ralph served as a reservist. Following his active military service Ralph worked in the produce departments of stores in the Kansas City area, most recently for Hy-Vee and Price Chopper.

Ralph loved classic western music and was a fan of Hank Williams. He loved to frequent several local eating establishments and was well known and loved by the people who served him. In recent years, Ralph would begin his days at a park near his residence that had a walking path and places to exercise. During Ralph’s time spent in the park, he became friends with several people who came there to walk their dogs. Ralph loved the dogs who would run to him whenever he was present. Ralph would lavish his canine friends with a great deal of love and affection as well as
treats he would bring with him for them.

Ralph was a great guy with a big heart. He would do anything for anyone who needed his help. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him and who had the privilege of having him in their lives.

Ralph leaves behind a great many friends who loved him dearly as well as two sisters, Sue Ellis of Independence, Mo., and Lynn Harris and brother-in-law Doug Harris of Copeland, Ks. Ralph is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronnie, a nephew Keith Decker, and brother-in-law Steve Ellis.

According to Ralph’s wishes cremation has taken place for him. His cremains will be put to rest at a later date at the Leavenworth Military Cemetery. The family is grateful for the care and professionalism of the Amos Family Funeral home of Shawnee KS, in taking care of all of the arrangements for our loved one.
