Janet Ellen Brooks Was the strongest woman that her friends and family ever knew. Growing upon a farm in southern Kansas gave her an appreciation for the land, and a deep appreciation of hard work. That’s probably why when she met Keith she knew he was the hardest worker she would ever have the chance to love and married him and moved up to the KC area. She had two daughters, and worked at a small specialty food store that became her second family before heading back to college and getting her masters degree in library sciences. She worked at JCCC for several years before retiring in 2021. She was a wife, mother, cook, gardener, reader, leader, singer, Girl Scout leader, rebel, academic, encourager, and spent many of her hours helping others find their passion and their calling. Her faith was always her North Star, as she had been a member of the same church for 48 years. She will always be in the hearts of her husband, her two daughters, her two sisters and two brothers, and her three grandchildren. “In your final breath, kiss the world goodbye and fly to Jesus”
