In Loving Memory of Benny F. "Ben" Watts

On Saturday January 27, 2024 Ben's life will be celebrated, beginning with a visitation at 2:00pm, immediately followed by a memorial service at 3pm, at Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive Shawnee, KS 66203.

This gathering of family and friends will serve as a testament to the profound influence Ben had on those around him. As we gather to bid farewell to a humble and god fearing man, let us find solace in the memories we shared and the inspiration he bestowed upon us.

Benny "Ben" F. Watts, lovingly known as the Biscuit Bandit, bid his peaceful farewell on January 16, 2024, at the age of 82, surrounded by his loved ones.

Ben's journey as a Construction Worker was a testament to his strong work ethic and dedication. With his sleeves rolled up and a can-do attitude, he left an indelible mark on everything he built. His legacy stands tall, just like the structures he helped bring to life.

Ben's life was forever changed when he met his beloved wife, Betty J. Watts, whom he cherished deeply. Together, they built a foundation of love and support that served as the bedrock of their family. Their 62 year  journey was blessed with the presence of their 5 children: Keith A. Watts (Kelly) of Brumley MO, Kevin A. Watts (Angela) of Baldwin City, KS, Dawn R. Geller (Richard) of Indiana, Kristi D. Priddy (Larry Jr) of Kansas City, KS, and Shawn J. Watts. Each child was a source of joy and pride for Ben, and he treasured the unique bond he shared with each of them.

One of the happiest days of Ben's life was when he symbolized his dedication to Jehovah God by water baptism in April 2007, thus becoming one of Jehovah's witnesses. Another reason for joy on that day was that several of his children and grandchildren traveled long distances to attend that baptism.

In addition to his immediate family, Ben leaves behind his sister, Brandi L. Watts of Little Rock, AR, as well as a legacy of love that extends to his 13 grandchildren Vanessa Hamilton, Tracy Howard, Troy Geller, LuAnna Ragland, MiKala Mortell, Marcus Ragland, Brandi Campbell, Holli Priddy, Layna Ragland, Amber Priddy, Charles Watts, Heidi Barbosa, Robert Watts, and 30 great-grandchildren. His immense impact on their lives will be remembered and cherished as they continue to build upon the values he instilled in them.

Ben was preceded in death by his son, Shawn J. Watts, as well as his loving parents, Charles A. Watts and Ruby P. Watts and his brother Billy W. Watts.

Born on December 4, 1941, in Marshal, Arkansas, Ben's zest for life was as unmistakable as his love for fishing and biscuits & gravy and he had a particular weakness for Butterscotch pie.

In the face of loss, we remember Ben as an unwavering pillar of strength, resilience and strong faith. His journey on this earth may have come to an end, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May we carry his memory with us as we continue to pursue our own passions and make lasting impression on others, just as he did.

As we bid farewell to our beloved Biscuit Bandit, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and carry his memory within our hearts. Benny F. Watts may have left this world, but his legacy will continue to ripple through the lives he touched.
