Jenny Meyers Cannon

Jenny Meyers Cannon, 36, of Shawnee, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2018.

Jenny was born on April 17, 1982, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ron and Diane Meyers. Jenny had a gift for writing and won several awards while attending Parkway West High School in Ballwin, MO., including first place in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest in both her junior and senior years.  Jenny continued her education at St. Louis University graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. From 2005-2013, she was a nurse at the University of Kansas Hospital specializing in treating terminal cancer patients.  Jenny was beloved by her patients for her true compassion and care, always putting the needs of her patient’s first and always fighting for what was right for them.  Jenny also had a great love for animals, especially dogs.  She volunteered for rescue organizations, fostering puppies and their mothers, as well as adopting several adult dogs herself.  

Jenny married Rocky Cannon on March 17, 2007, in Leawood, Kansas. She was a special wife and mother to her husband and four children.  There was nothing she would not do for her family. 

In addition to her husband, Rocky, Jenny is survived by their children, Cadence (Mammy), (Sir) Meyers, Quinny, and Lollie; her parents, Diane Meyers, Shawnee; Ron (Leah) Meyers, Eolia, MO; her brother Will (Qian) Meyers, Ballwin, MO; grandparents, Bob and Pat Meyers, Lake St. Louis, MO; and grandmother, Connie (Jerry) Donelson, Godfrey, IL; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Memorial Service 

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church, 9400 Pflumm Road, Lenexa, KS 66215.
