June 18, 2020

Since 1946, Amos Family Funeral Home has maintained the same core values: commitment to our community, maintaining the safety of our staff along with the families we serve, as well as acting ethically and with transparency in all that we do.

On June 22, 2020 the Kansas State Governor’s Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas is expected to move to “Phase Out”. “Phase Out” places no restrictions on the number of people that can attend a “mass gathering” as long as social distancing is being practiced.

However, we firmly believe that opening funeral/memorial services and visitations to the public at this time with no restrictions on the number in attendance would be at odds with our core values. Guided by those values, we are instead electing to follow what we believe is the best for the community we have served for over 74 years.

As of right now, we feel that limiting funeral/memorial services and visitations held at our funeral home to 45 people in attendance is the most responsible choice for our community, the families we serve, and our staff.  While this was an incredibly tough decision, we will continue to do what we feel is most responsible for those coming to our facility.

Amos Family Funeral Home understands that the situation for each family we serve is different, and we will continue to accommodate specific needs to the best of our ability during this difficult time. We will also continue to offer families the option to record or stream funeral services for those who are not able to be in attendance.

We promise to maintain our commitment to stay on top of this very fluid situation and will continue to make decisions which we feel are best for our community moving forward.
