  2. Ellen & Russ Jonker Says:

We are deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Charlie. We will remember him in many positive ways – a big smile, great sense of humor, and always a great story.

We are sending healing prayers and comforting hugs at this difficult time.
Remember – Charlie may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

  3. Kevin Delgado Says:

The one thing mentioned by everybody about my father is his sense of humor. Exactly. That’s it. That’s the thing that he’d want most to be defined by, I’m sure. So do something funny, or make somebody laugh, or sit on a whoopie cushion, make a goofy face at a kid. Binge watch Dick Van Dyke if you must. Just laugh. And his ghost will laugh too, and who doesn’t love a laughing ghost?

  4. Wayne & Cheri Vaupel Says:

We sure enjoyed making Charlie a special Bloody Mary when he was in town, and his presence will certainly be missed! We will try to make sure that Karen and entire family are in our hearts and prayers. We love you

  5. Lynette. Miller Says:

Happy memories from many years ago. God bless our boys( Al and Charlie). Maybe they will meet again.

  6. Bob Thomas Says:

Very sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing.
We met many years ago through Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and a couple of political campaigns. We would run into each other at Hy Vee and around town from time to time.
I always enjoyed seeing him and we would always have something to laugh about. I will always remember him as happy and smiling.
    Bob Thomas

  7. Gene Creaven Says:

Spent a few months in an IRS classroom sharing a table with Charlie. He could brighten up your day, as well as his own.
    I know he’ll be remembered.

  8. Dwane Wills Overland Park, KS, Says:

Condolences to the families of Charles on his passing. When living in Shawnee in the 1970’s Charles was our city manager. I met Charles and Karen when I was manager for Anchor Savings in Shawnee and they purchased a home for which we provided financing. In August and September of last year Charles was my supervisor for the 2020 Census Address Listing Updating in the field. I have notified the local Census office in Overland Park of Charles passing.

  9. Vickie Jones Says:
