  1. Janelle Francis Says:

Chantal was such a sweet older sister. I remember her coming home on weekends after she went to St. Paul to work after graduating. She loved having her hair “just so” & dressing fashionably. She was always witty which stayed with her throughout her life. She was blessed to
have such loving, caring children to look after her. You always made sure she was getting the best care possible. You were wonderful to her and she appreciated you. You made her life easier & better.
    Rest In Peace Chantal.
With love from her sister Jan

  2. Joanne Landers Says:

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. Chantal never lost her quick wit. Her sense of humor was still evident during our last visit at the end of June. So grateful we were able to make the trip down to visit her one last time and share some memories with our niece Lenore who devoted so much Love, Time and Energy to her Mother throughout her life. Rest in Peace Dear Sister.

  3. Kelly Haase Says:

Sending my thoughts and prayers to the family. Aunt Chantel had a beautiful innocent soul, she is home now.

  4. Marsha Whempner Alexander Says:

Thanks for the well-written obituary. Like all the Haase girls, Chantal was a peppy, fun-loving girl when I knew her. I didn’t know about her life as an adult, and glad she had a loving family with children, as well as siblings.

  5. Phyllis (Whempner) and Adrian Gilbet Says:

Our sincere sympathy goes out to Chantal’s family. We both knew her as children; Adrian lived next door to the Haase family in Red Wing, where he and Jerry had many escapades involving escaping from the little Haase girls. Once Jerry resorted to hiding in the garbage can…a favorite story! After the Haase family moved to Lake City, we got to know and see Chantal more, often biking through the ball park and stopping at Lindeen’s for candy. Chantal enjoyed making desserts, and her greatest masterpiece was the Prune Fluff concoction she made for our family one night. Unfortunately she could not recall the exact recipe, requiring numerous trips to Lindeen’s for more prunes, then more whipping cream, repeat. We ended up with enough Fluff to feed the whole Haase gang at the reunions we held each summer by the lake. Such fun. Chantal was part of our happy childhood memories which we will always treasure.
