    Frequently Asked Questions

    Is embalming required by law?

In most cases, embalming is not required by law. However, if you choose a service with viewing, embalming may be required. We offer the option of refrigeration to those families who choose not to have their loved one embalmed. The vast majority of families who choose burial still choose embalming.

Why do I need a burial vault?

No state laws require the use of an outer burial container or burial vault. Most cemeteries do require an outer burial container for cemetery maintenance purposes. The outer burial container prevents the grave from collapsing and if sealed, protects the casket.

    Do you sell monuments?

The Amos Family offers a wide range of options for monuments and markers. Some cemeteries require flat bronze markers while others allow any type of monument a family wishes to install. If you are looking for cemetery property, ask us and we will tell you the type of monument or marker the cemetery allows.
