Dear Jen,

This note is to extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family. It is so very sad to hear about Scott, he was such a wonderful man. He set the example of how to be a great dad, loving husband and contributing member of the community.

I had the honor and the pleasure to know your husband and I was very sorry to hear about his passing away. I had the greatest respect for Scott (or Ska-T as we knew him) and will miss our times together in the pursuit of the next great trail, his fun loving nature and ability to embrace life and get the most out of it.

Please let me know whether there is anything I can do to help during this difficult time. You and your family are in my thoughts.

There is a tradition that my family has. When a close friend or family member passes we light a candle each night for the number of years of their life. I will light the first candle for Scott tonight.

With respect and affection,

Max Mason and Family

Dear Allen Family,

From the Lind family, we send our sympathies. I feel fortunate to have had the chance to share a friendship with Scott for 6 years. In that time, we built some great memories that I'll cherish. One thing Scott always seemed proud of was his family! He always had the warmest smile and rare sense of humor that made riding bikes with him so much fun. Jen, Riley and Berkley, we will continue to pray for your ongoing strength and peace in such a trying time. God bless you all.

Sincerely,
Jason

I grew up across the street from Scott Allen, and am deeply saddened by this tragedy. I met his wife, Jennifer when I was living in a dorm at KU. I have many fond childhood memories of Scott. He came to my birthday parties and he was the only neighbor that would buy my mud popsicles. He would even take a bite and tell me how good they tasted. Even though I was a few years behind, Scott would include me in the "big kid" games like playing basketball, hide and seek tag, and stuck in the mud. I went to his 21st birthday party where his band performed, he was quite a musician. Scott was a wonderful person. I wish the family God's peace.

Dear Cleo, Dee, Jennifer, and other family members,

We are so very sorry to hear of Scott's passing at such a young age and leaving such a young family. We pray God will provide extra strength to Jennifer as she raises their children, and God would comfort Scott's parents and brother, Dan, as they mourn the loss of their precious son and brother.

We have pictures of Danny and Scott patiently sitting through one of our kid's crazy birthday parties. They were older but still gave our kids some good play times in the old neighborhood, where we still are!

Bless you,
Ed and Karen Wagner

In a life cut so short, Scott lived so fully. I am so very lucky to have known him. His un-ending devotion to his family and friends constantly amazed me.

Jen,

I have spent the past few days trying to come up with something that would be eloquent and meaningful, however, there are no words. Nothing I can say will change your sorrow, at this time.

I believe that actions speak louder than words. Scott SHOWED his love and friendship towards all of us, to the point that there is NO DOUBT about his feelings of love for his friends and family!

Please know that regardless of my ability to share my emotional support verbally or eloquently, I ABSOLUTELY love and adore Scott, YOU, Riley and (i already love)Berkley. I am ALWAYS here for you.

I remember being at your wedding...it was awesome! I am your second cousin. (My mom was Raymond's sister). I was so impressed by Scott's ability to be himself. Everybody thought he was such a nice guy. I loved the fact that he did not fit into the "traditional" husband mold. He adored you, Jen. I can't imagine what you are going through or how you will cope with this. It is so unfair. But, I imagine that you are strong and Scott would want you to be the great mom that you are. Life isn't fair sometimes. I hope that Scott's favorite things will live on in your kids.

We are all thinking about you.
