Scott Alexander Adams

Scott Alexander Adams departed this earthly life and crossed over to Glory on Saturday afternoon, April 13, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel L. Adams, Sr. and Alfretta Q. Adams.

On December 11, 1962, Scott was the 4 th son born to Nathaniel and Alfretta Adams in Kansas City, Kansas.

His life had many golden memories along with some challenges. He graduated Shawnee Mission North High School where he was an excellent student and track athlete. He attended trade schools where he received certificates for refrigeration repair and fork lift operation.

A few years after high school, Scott was diagnosed with a chemical imbalance in his brain which led to a mental illness called schizophrenia. Blessedly, his voices were always friendly and he would often laugh! Which caused him to be a gentle soul, kind-hearted, good natured, happy-go-lucky man who always thought he was a kid!

His parents and siblings dedicated their/our lives to restore his mental health! Upon his passing, Scott was his most independent self since high school!

Scott was a faithful Christian and a life- long member of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church! Since his parents where charted members of the church, Scott attended more church services
than any current member!

He leaves to cherish his memory: Brothers; Nathaniel Adams, Jr./Wanda; Tony Adams; Carlton Adams/Mary (all in Kansas City); Aunt Cleo Moore (LA, CA); special nephew, Va’Shaun Adams/Brenda Adams (sister-in-law); special cousin Linda Copeland/Donnell (all in KC). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A funeral service will be 11:00am, Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, Kansas 66203 with a visitation starting at 10:00am; burial in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. To view the service live CLICK HERE.
