Angela Alderman

Angela G. Alderman, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on April 14, 2024, at her home in Shawnee, KS. She was born April 2, 1968, on a chilly, rainy day in Pittsburg, KS to David and Lynda (Page) Alderman. 

Angie spent her younger years in California but moved back to Kansas when she was 10.  She attended Lincoln Elementary School, Ottawa Junior High, and graduated from Ottawa High School in 1986. She graduated from Ottawa University in 1993 with a degree in biology and pursued a career in microbiology. 

In 1998, she was united in marriage on the beautiful island of Maui to Jeff Davis. They later divorced but from this union was born a daughter, Grace, and a son, Jack, who were deeply loved. 

Angie was an active outdoor person who liked to bike and run. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed the mountains and the lake, water, the sun, and suntanning! Her grandmother, Marian Alderman, taught her to knit and crochet, a skill that she used to make dozens of blankets for family, friends, and babies of friends.  

Angie loved to sing and sang to her children but always changed the words to fit the occasion and make them laugh. She was mischievous and had the best laugh and was good at making others laugh as well. Angie had a kind and loving heart and saw the best in people. She was a supportive mother, sister, and friend. 

Angie is survived by her parents, David and Lynda Alderman; her children Grace and Jack Davis; brother Alex Alderman and wife Rebecca; nephew Max Alderman; niece Sophia Alderman; close cousin Patrice Peoples, and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many beloved lifelong friends. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Max and Marian Alderman and Harlan and Elizabeth Page. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
