Rose Marie Hughes, 85, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Medicalodges Nursing Center, Eudora, Kansas.

 

Rose was born May 30, 1926, in Oswego, Kansas, to Edward and Marie Snead. She was a 1944 graduate of the Labette County High School.

 

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel A. Hughes in 1983 and two brothers, Donald and Buddy Snead. Survivors include her son, Larry (Peggy) Hughes, Olathe, Kansas; three daughters, Sherry (Ray) Mayfield, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Linda Twaddell, Olathe, Kansas, and Janet (Charlie) Brown, Owasso, Oklahoma; two sisters, Colene Hammond, Austin, Texas, and Eula Jean Sayre, Overland Park, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

 

Graveside Service

 

Graveside service will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 6, 2012, at the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.

    I was so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing, we had some really good times together at church and at IHop I was just sorry that I did not make it to Kansas again after moving to Ohio so that we could go out to eat together again.
