Betty, we are all so blessed to know you and Joe, and to have seen your loving family grow and enjoy each other.

You have personified the love and commitment of all our marriage vows, “for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health”.

You have been our role models for Christian marriage since we met you in the early 1980′s. We will always look to your example of caring so deeply and steadily for Joe, no matter what trials in life might come upon us.

May God bless you, and that He daily increases your faith that one day you will be together again, healed and perfected in the arms of our Risen Savior, Lord Jesus.

Betty, it has been many a year but I have not forgotten you and Joe.
I especially remember Joe’s smile. Here is a poem I especially love and I hope it brings comfort to you and to your family.
    **ALL IS WELL**
    Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me and if you want to, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect,
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
    It is the same as it ever was;
    There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
    I am waiting for you,
    For an interval,
somewhere very near, just around the corner.
    by Henry Scott-Holland.
