Blanche B. Caldwell
Blanche Caldwell, 95, Overland Park, Kansas, (formerly of Russell, Kansas) passed away Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Bickford Assisted Living, Overland Park, Kansas.
Blanche was born November 30, 1916, in Chanute, Kansas, to Samuel J. and Emily J. Beamer. She attended school in Enid, Oklahoma, graduating in 1934. She attended Oklahoma University for two years. After her marriage and the birth of her daughters, she went back to college graduating from Fort Hayes State University. She received a Master’s degree and continued her education until she retired from teaching school in 1985.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, James “Shag” Hunter Caldwell in 1993. She is survived by her two daughters, Margaret (Charlie) Willson, Shawnee, Kansas and Jeanne Hoffman, Great Bend, Kansas; five grandchildren, Nanci Willson, Ottawa, Kansas, Dustin Hoffman, Smyrna, Tennessee, Wade Willson, Olathe, Kansas, Amy Hamilton, Spring Hill, Kansas and Heidi Byers, Olathe, Kansas and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation and Funeral Service
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at Shawnee United Methodist Church. Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m., Friday at the Russell City Cemetery, Russell, Kansas.
Memorial Contributions
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 221 N. Maple Street, Russell, Kansas 67665.
