Rose A. Pretz

Rose Agnes Pretz, 86, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Friday December 9, 2011, at Rose Estates surrounded by her loving family. 

 

Rose was born April 30, 1925, in Muncie, Kansas, to the late Ernest and Rose M. Preston. Rose married Fred Pretz, Jr. in 1942. Fred then served in Europe in the Army during WWII while Rose worked jobs to support the war effort.  Rose worked for Proctor & Gamble for over 30 years.

 

They were members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Fred and Rose were inseparable until his death in 2009. Rose dedicated her life to her husband and family. She also enjoyed her friends and volunteered at church. 

 

Survivors include their five children, Rick Pretz (Nancy), Connie Haldiman (Bernie), Mike Pretz (Sarah), Greg Pretz (Deb), and Debbie Budenbender (Mike); six grandchildren, Lisa Mooney, Leah Taylor, Travis and Casey Budenbender, Megan Luff and Ashley Pretz; eight great grandchildren; brother Bob Preston; and sister-in-law Lucille Preston.  Rose is preceded in death by her granddaughter Renée Pretz Pernice.  

 

Visitation and Funeral Service

 

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2011, at the Amos Family Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.  Entombment at Prince of Peace Mausoleum, Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.

 

Memorial Contributions

 

Memorial contributions may be made to National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33136-1494.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember the times Patty and myself spent with Rick, Connie, Mike, Greg, and Debbi while our parents went out to party. Very fond memories, hope you are all ok and will will pray for Agnus.

    Dearest Pretz family…Rose was the kindest and most loving soul…she was a friend and neighbor back in the Goode Estates days…Fred and Rose bought many cars from my husband Jim..both Rose and Fred where an absolute joy to be with…God’s blessings to all of you…Sincerely, Candy Henderson
