Mary Jane Rudloff, 88 of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away January 21, 2011, at Kansas City Hospice House.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Rudy” Rudloff. She is survived by two brothers, John Raimo of McAllen, Texas and Tom Raimo of Kansas City, Missouri. Surviving children are Carol Tracy, Pam Jones, Terry and Tony Rudloff, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation and Funeral Service
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee with the Mass following at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
Robert Thomas Baty

Robert Thomas Baty, 62, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas.
Robert was born May 8, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to Lawrence and Rebecca (Morrison) Baty. He was a 1966 graduate of Kelly High School in Chicago. He attended Southern Illinois University.
Robert married Dolores Cieler on July 6, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois. Robert and his family moved to Shawnee, Kansas, in 1979 and started Aircorp Inc. where he became known as “The Fan Man”. Robert recently took on a new venture and started Victor’s Chicago Pizza in Lenexa, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; three sons, Robert Baty, Jr. and his wife, Diane, Overland Park, Kansas, Richard Baty and wife, Jennifer and Anthony Baty all of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren, Emma and Samuel Baty and Kelsey and Brendan Flaherty; two brothers, Lawrence Baty, West Frankfort, Illinois and Orville Baty, Sesser, Illinois; and many other family and friends.

Roy M. Thomas, Jr.

Roy M. Thomas, Jr., 89, Lansing, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at the VA Nursing Home, Leavenworth, Kansas.
Mr. Thomas was born September 18, 1921, in Hillsdale, Kansas, to Roy A. and Jennie (Madison) Thomas. He graduated from North Kansas City High School and attended Rockhurst College. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII serving in the 104th Infantry Timberwolves. He was employed with Western Electric for 25 years until his retirement.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Bean) Thomas on August 11, 2005. Survivors include his daughter Linda Hawkins and husband Ed, Leavenworth, Kansas; son, Tom Thomas, Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, one step-grandson, 12 great grandchildren, one step great granddaughter and three step great great grandchildren.

Gwendolyn “Sue” Berry

Sue Berry, 68, of Shawnee, Kansas, died Thursday, January 20, 2011, at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Gwendolyn Sue Berry was born July 13, 1942, in Carrollton, Missouri, to George V. and F. Pauline Berry. She was a 1960 graduate of Norborne High School, attended Kansas City Business College and graduated from Rockhurst University. She worked as an accountant for over 45 years, then started a second career as a Licensed Child Care Provider for infants.
Sue was a proud member of the American Business Woman’s Association (ABWA), American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) and Zonta International. She loved to travel, garden, shop for dishes, and make wedding cakes, which earned her the nickname “The Cake Lady”. She also enjoyed her beloved dachshund pets, Peanut and Cashew.
Sue is survived by her brother George F. Berry and his wife Carol of Overland Park, Kansas, niece Jean Barnes and husband Craig, great-nephew Tyler, and great-niece Bridgett Barnes. By niece Susan Wickoren and great-nephews, Maxwell, Foster and Evan Wickoren of Shawnee, Kansas. By nephew George Patrick Berry of Kansas City, Kansas. Also by a sister Betty Albrecht and her husband David of Sedalia, Missouri, niece Emily Lang and husband Chris, great-nieces, Ashton and Addison, and great-nephew Kellan Lang of Overland Park, KS. By a niece Kelly Miller and husband Justin and great-niece Savannah of Olathe, Kansas. By nephew Philip Albrecht and wife Ashley of Prairie Village, Kansas.

Bob W. Siebert, 76, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the ManorCare of Overland Park, Kansas.
Bob was born February 11, 1934 in Burr Oak, Kansas, to Henry and Ethel (Pixler) Siebert. He was a 1952 graduate of Burr Oak High School and attended Baker University. On September 29, 1957, Bob married Eileen Brink in Spring Hill, Kansas. Bob managed Steve’s Shoes in Prairie Village for 43 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Tiblow’s Good Sam Camping Club and wintered in South Texas for the past ten years.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Siebert; daughter, Dana Gillum and husband, Neal, Kansas City, Missouri; son, Darren Siebert and wife, Terra, Kansas City, Kansas; sister, Joyce Olena, Geneva, Nebraska; brother, Bill Siebert, Aloha, Oregon; grandchildren, Thomas and Rachel Fullerton, Dutch and Lindsay Fullerton, Taryn Fullerton, Shae Gillum and Brett Gillum; and a great grandson due in the spring.

Flossie M. “Maggie” Cash Poush, 87, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the Pinnacle Care Nursing and Rehab, Olathe, Kansas.
Flossie was born September 3, 1923, in Morrison, Oklahoma to Ernie K. and Mary E. (Smith) Krebs. She was a graduate of Pawnee High School, Pawnee, Oklahoma. Flossie worked for Allied Signal in modification and repair for many years.
She was a past member of the Lenexa Baptist Church, Sunflower Sams Kansas City, Kansas Camping Club, Allied Signal Retirees Club, Fern Conclave #5 Order of True Kindred and Beatrice #450 Order of the Eastern Star.
Flossie is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Cash, Jr. and second husband, Harry W. Poush. Survivors include her sister, Helen Bledsoe; two step-sons, Ronald Poush and Donald Poush and their families; nephew, Joe Bledsoe; and three nieces, Mary, Janice and Ruth.

Edward I. Schumm

Edward Irving Schumm, 93, passed away peacefully at the Kansas City Hospice House on January 18, 2011.
Edward was born in Chicago, Illinois. He married Anna Frances Mallaney September 7, 1940, and together they raised five sons until her death in 1989.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Helen Winn-Schumm of the home; Edward I. Schumm, Jr. of Denver, Colorado; Robert J. Schumm and wife Sandra of Lawrence, Kansas; Thomas J. Schumm and wife Patricia; James D. Schumm and wife Nancy of Overland Park; and William R. Schumm of Nashville, Tennessee. Grandpa bragged many times of his 15 grandchildren and 13+ great-grandchildren.
“Poppi” was a devout Catholic and served as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He always prayed the Rosary on long car trips to and from his winter home in Harlingen, Texas. Edward took pride in the fact that he was retired for over 30 years. This gave him time to enjoy his residence at Lake Viking near Gallatin, Missouri. Each of his descendants cherishes the boating, skiing, fishing, bonfires and partying times which were regular happenings. A proud and devoted family man, he constantly devised events to keep everyone together. The most popular was his annual birthday party which also served as a family reunion.
The family wishes to thank the marvelous medical professionals at both St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Kansas City Hospice House for keeping him comfortable in his final days.

Joseph Schiavo

Joseph R. Schiavo, 88, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away January 13, 2011.
Joe was born in Rockford, Illinois, to John and Maria Ferro Schiavo. He went into the Marine Corps, serving in WW II and the Korean War, where he was awarded three gold stars and later retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Joe was a pilot with Trans World Airlines until he retired in 1982 and then served as a tour guide at the TWA overhaul base for many years.
Joe was a member of St. Ann’s Parish in Prairie Village, KS for many years, St. Ann’s Bridge Group, Association of Naval Aviators, Overland Park Trail Blazers, and West Eleven Financial Group.
His daughter, Patricia Ann, precedes him in death. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Schiavo of the home; daughters Kathy (John) Hamilton of Springfield, Missouri and Cindy (Jim) Courtney of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren, Jenny (Marc) Straub, Tom (Julie) Hamilton, Natalie Courtney, and Mike Courtney; brothers and his nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Santa Marta Chapel or to The Disabled American Veterans.

A memorial service will be held at Santa Marta Retirement located at 13800 W. 116th Street, Olathe, Kansas, on Tuesday January 18, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas, Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at 1:00 p.m.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents Clifford Almond and Freda Osborn. Survivors include her four children Debora (Steve) Snider, Pattonsburg, Missouri, Cindy Rocker, Roeland Park, Kansas, Rick (Johanna) Burns, Overland Park; Kansas, and Robert (Lisa) Burns, Desoto, Kansas; two brothers Don (Esther) Almond, Branson, Missouri and Gary (Jan) Prairie Village, Kansas; seven grandchildren John, Angela, Jason, Shannon, Stephanie, Frank, and Grace; 20 great-grandchildren; the Despard family; and her beloved dog Cinnamon.

Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 16, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2011, at the chapel with cremation to follow the service.
