Betty Lee Jones, 80, Olathe, Kansas, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park, Kansas.

 

Mrs. Jones was born October 13. 1930, in Kansas City, Kansas to William  and Mary (Wood) Dozier. She married Rev. Lyle E. Jones on October 11, 1953, in Kansas City, Kansas. Throughout their lives they served in many capacities in church ministry. She was a senior bookkeeper for Sperry New Holland for 18 years and had in the recent past worked part time at Burlington Coat Factory. She attended both Antioch Family Worship Center and Indian Creek Community Church.  Mom lived her faith in Jesus Christ, loved with all of her heart and never met a stranger.

 

Betty is survived by her husband, Reverend Lyle E. Jones; son, Stephen E. Jones and wife, Pamela, Olathe, Kansas; daughter, Rhonda Vincent and husband, Ron, Leawood, Kansas; six grandchildren, Stephen Jones, Kelli Vincent, Jennifer Jones, Ryan Vincent, Aaron Vincent and Rebecca Hamlin; and eight great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral Service and Visitation

 

Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.; burial in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

    To me Miss Betty was truly an angel sent from God. She touched so many lives – never a kinder, sweeter more giving person will I ever meet in my lifetime – I Love you Miss Betty.

    Rhonda and Kelli my heart cries for you both – your mom and grandmother was such a great comfort and friend to me. I am so very sorry for your tragic loss.
