Michelena Louise Vincze, 81, wife of Zsigmond M. Vincze, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010.
Visitation and Funeral Service
Mass of Christian Burial will be 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Thursday at the church, where a rosary recitation will begin at 6:45 pm. Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the St. Peter’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Zelienople, Pennsylvania.
Glenn Gary Gardner

Glenn Gary Gardner, 60, of Ft.. Scott, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home November 16, 2010.
He was born October 11, 1950 in Manhattan, Kansas. Glenn graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1968. He later spent several years as a printer by trade, living in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
Glenn is survived by his parents, Bobby and Helen Gardner and his son Adam Gardner all of Overland Park, Kansas; his daughter Monica Gardner and two grandchildren Michaela and Mason Gardner all of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; and a brother Michael Gardner of Gardner, Kansas. Glenn was preceded in death by his brother David Gardner in 1978.
Glenn enjoyed playing chess, Scrabble, and trivia, while listening to rock and roll music and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Services
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
Betty Mae O’Grady

Betty Mae O’Grady, 90, passed away November 27, 2010, surrounded by her family.
Betty was born on August 1, 1920, in Moline, Illinois, and grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. Betty was united in marriage October 27, 1945, to Leo F. O’Grady and together they raised 5 sons in Roeland Park, Kansas.
During World War II Betty supported the war effort by working in a Firestone plant. She was an avid Bridge player and was a member of several groups in the area. Betty also enjoyed playing golf, and played well into her eighties. She is a former member of St. Pius X and St. Joseph Parishes as well as being a current member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Leo, and her parents, Marie and Wilson “Doc” Brewer.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Pat and Betty O’Grady of Kansas City, Kansas; Mike and Louise O’Grady, Dennis and Kitty O’Grady, Brian O’Grady, and Tim and Maureen O’Grady, all of Overland Park, Kansas, a sister, Mary Terrebonne, Des Moines, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many other children who regarded her as their beloved Grandma Betty.
Betty will be terribly missed by her friends and family and will always be remembered as a wonderful mother who welcomed all into her family.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital for Juvenile Diabetes Research.

Visitation will be 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, burial will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa.
Barbara Jeanne Stensrud

Barbara Jeanne Stensrud, 80, Overland Park, passed away Friday, November 26, 2010, at Lakeview Village in Lenexa.
Barbara was born February 26, 1930, to the late Herman and Luella Hanson in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Barbara received an Associate’s Degree from Winona Teachers College in Winona, Minnesota. On August 21, 1949, Barbara married Victor C. Stensrud in Freeborn, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1993, after 44 years of marriage.
Barbara was a very active member of Knox Presbyterian Church. She served as a Deacon, as well as being a Stephen Minister, and sang in the Choir. Barbara was also involved with several committees and bible study groups. She was a member of the PEO, and enjoyed volunteering her time at several area hospitals as well as lending a helping hand at Top Drawer Consignment Shop and Vita, a tax income assistance group for the elderly and low income families. When Barbara wasn’t busy volunteering, she enjoyed spending her time working a crossword puzzle, or spending time with her family playing cards and laughing.
Barbara leaves behind a daughter, Christine Gardner and husband Jeff, two sons, Kent Stensrud and wife Susan; and Michael Stensrud and wife Jovita; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Barbara will be missed by many friends and family. She is preceded in death by a sister, Avis Pederson, a brother, Chester Hanson, and an infant son. Barbara was a classic christian servant and will be sorely missed by many friends and family.

Lee N. Barber

Lee Neal Barber, 71, of Paola, Kansas, passed away November 25, 2010.
He was born November 2, 1939, the only child of Pauline (Stewart) and Lonzo Barber. Lee attended Southwest High School in Kansas City, where he was active in the band.
Working over 40 years in the auto repair industry, he started his career at a Holiday Station before leasing Texaco and Conoco Stations. He owned and operated Lee’s Auto and Transmission Service in Overland Park. He “retired” in 1995 but by 1997 purchased a second shop in Blue Springs. In spite of his impending blindness, he worked another two years getting this facility established.
Lee enjoyed fishing, boating, watching the Chiefs with his son and grandsons, playing blackjack, and spending time with his family. Upon his second retirement, Lee began designing and crafting many chairs and furniture in his ever expanding woodshop. Most recently he rebuilt the transmission in his 454 Chevy.
Lee is survived by his wife, Carolyn, four children: Deborah Jacobs, Karen Marshall, Rebecca Gilliford, and Matthew Barber, and their spouses Jeff Marshall, John Gilliford, and Lisa Barber. He thoroughly enjoyed his six grandchildren, Jennifer and Kyle Jacobs, Ryan Marshall, Woodie Gilliford, and Nicholas and Nathan Barber. He was recently preceded in death by a cherished son-in-law, David Jacobs.

Viola May Ganley, 79, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at home.
Viola was preceded in death by her husband James Phillip Ganley and is survived by her daughters Joyce (Jack) Spring, Shawnee, Kansas and Judy (Ronnie) Hague, Lawson, Missouri; a son James L. (Mary E.) Ganley, Lawson, Missouri; sister Lucille Brewer, Topeka, Kansas; brother Amos Wayne (Jackie) Watson, Overland Park, Kansas; Alice Watson, Raymore, Missouri; four brothers Ray (Caroline) Watson, Raymore, Missouri; Wuaymon (Ruth) Watson, Thayer, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Watson, Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Watson, Raymore, Missouri; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visatation and Service
Funeral service will be 12 noon, Saturday, November 27, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the chapel. Burial will follow the funeral service in Bonner Springs City Cemetery.
Bob Wilson

Bob Wilson, 56, of Merriam, Kansas, passed away November 22, 2010. He was born Nov. 5, 1954 in Oak Park, Illinois, to Harvey and Louise (Allessi) Wilson.
Bob recently retired as the CFO for the Department of Labor. He was a proud member of the Second Christian Church of Atchison. He was also a master angler.
Bob was a devoted father to his children, Cam and Mackenzie Wilson and grandfather to Lucy Sunshine Wilson. He is also survived by his mother, Louise Wilson, sister Mary Billingsley, and brother Rick Wilson along with four nieces.
Contributions in memory of Bob may be made to Valley Hope, 1816 N. 2nd Street, Atchison, Kansas.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, November 26, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral services 10:00 am, Saturday, November 27, 2010, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
Dorothy LaVerne Gould

Dorothy LaVerne Gould, 86, of Boliver, Missouri, formerly of Merriam, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Dorothy was born October 18, 1924, to the late John and Nell Moore in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On March 30, 1943, Dorothy married Norman Gould in Camp Crowder, Missouri. He preceded her in death after 61 years of marriage on May 15, 2004. Dorothy was a very active member of Merriam Christian Church and worked for Macy’s Department Store in Merriam, Kansas, until her retirement. She spent her last years at Parkview Senior Housing in Boliver, Missouri.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter Linda Irene Salkil, and husband Ron; two sons, Larry James Gould and wife Brenda; Roger Edwin Gould, and wife Karen; brother, John Al Moore; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Ada Mae Smith

Ada Mae Smith, 84, of Westwood, Kansas, passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Mae was born February 24, 1926 to the late Alf and Jenny (Rand) Blair in Elizabeth, Arkansas. Mae married Otho Smith December 3, 1941. He preceded her in death after 59 years of marriage.
She enjoyed gardening and growing her own flowers. As a pastor’s wife she was always willing to lend a hand wherever the church needed her.
Mae is survived by three sons, Carroll Smith and wife LaRue; Larry W. Smith, and Ronnie Smith and wife Pam; a daughter Patricia Stuart and husband Darren; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 29, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 30 at the Chapel. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Jahwaundah Gail Gardner, 70, Paola, Kansas (Haysville and Wichita, Kansas areas) passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.
Jahwaundah Gail was born September 29, 1940, in Heber Springs, Arkansas, to Sherman and Myrtle (Griggs) Sneed. She was in the banking business for 30 years and later worked at the Water Department in Haysville, Kansas.
Jahwaundah was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gardner, April 19, 2010. Survivors include her step-father Earl Sprung and his wife, Mary Ellen, North Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Mary E. Benbrook and husband, Jerry, Blue Mound, Kansas; brother, Farris Don Sneed, Fairbanks, Arkansas; nephew, Joseph Stancer, Merriam, Kansas; and niece Tonya Stancer, Olathe, Kansas.
Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Private graveside services will be held at the St. Joseph Cemetery, Shawnee, Kansas.
