George H. Negley
George H. Negley 82, who moved to Mission, Kansas from New Jersey in 2005 , died of acute respiratory failure on August 24, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice House.
He was born on July 29, 1928, the son of Scott Negley and Maria Dikeman Negley. After serving in Japan as a motor pool mechanic in the US Army, he graduated from the Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University) with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He later received the M.S.M.E. from the Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey.
George had a long and very successful career in technical sales, specializing in instrumentation systems for commercial consumers and government agencies such as the Navy and NASA. After employment with Minneapolis Honeywell as a technical representative for ten years in northern New Jersey he joined Consolidated Electric Corp where he was responsible for systems sales to agencies based in the Washington, D.C. area. He then formed Negley Associates, and for 25 years specialized in emergency standby systems for government agencies.
His engineering intellect was matched by his mechanical aptitude and dexterity and after his retirement from technical sales, he became a highly respected clock and watch repairman.
He was a Master Mason with fifty years of service joining the lodge in Union, New Jersey. He was also an active member in the Scottish Rite of FreeMasonry in Alexandria, VA. His hobbies included photography, golf, bicycling, fly and salt water fishing, and contract bridge.
He was predeceased by his sister Marcia Jean and his wife of 38 years, the former Helen Louise Klose of Wyncote, Pennsylvania. He is survived by two daughters, Barbara A. Negley of Mission, Kansas and Martha J. Negley of Kansas City, Missouri. He is also survived by a brother Scott R. Negley, Jr. and his wife Louise S. Negley of Kennebunk, Maine and several nieces and nephews. He leaves Alan Uhl of Gardner, Kansas, his dear friend of 77 years.
Sincere thanks to all those who cared for George during his years at Mission Springs especially Ramona, Martha, Florence, Debbie, Buddy, Denise, Chantal and Christine.

Im so sorry for the loss of your father. He was such a wonderfull friend to me . I feel so sad to think that I won’t be visiting him every day . Even on days he didn’t feel well, he still managed to make me laugh he shared stories of his life and family or tell me to find a boyfriend and to travel because life is to short. We have lost such a great friend , but remember he is now resting. Ihope that you can find some comfort in your many special memories and in the thought of the happy years you shared.

Martha J. Negley thought it humerous to leave her father, a stroke vicitim, without any knolwedge of his worth in his bank accounts. He asked and she laughed. She is currently asking to be reimbursed for payments without proof of her filing a single receipt. I will never forget the humiliation that my sister inflicted on my father’s face..My father believed in, and deserved better than, what he was dalt by his yonuger daugher. Please let him rest in peace and please don’t let let Martha J. Negley take that peace away.
