Cleadus I. Teeters, 81, of Shawnee, Kansas,, passed away, Monday, June 28, 2010 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Cleadus was born in Trail, Missouri, to Vol and Elsie Leek Estes. She married Leon Teeters on January 18, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Shawnee for 55 years. She and her husband of 63 years, Leon, enjoyed many years of traveling with their camping club, the Jayhawk Ramblers.
Additional survivors include her daughters, Sharon and Bill MacLean, Laguna Niguel, California, Wanda and Stan Monger, Shawnee, Kansas and Pamela and John Phillips, Erie, Kansas; a son, Kevin and Joyce Teeters, Paola, Kansas; and 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church of Shawnee, 11400 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 2, 2010, at the chapel with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery.

We have lost a very dear friend who we both loved. Bonnie loved her like a sister. She will be missed and our hearts go out to Leon and family for whose comfort we pray. Friends like Leon and Cleadus are rarely found more than once in a lifetime. Are hearts are broken that she has left this earth, but we know she is in the arms of a Loving Father.

What a pleasure to have known her. She has raised a wonderful loving family who will continue to share her legacy with the rest of us.
I know she will be missed terribly but be assured that she is with you always in all that you do.

Jerry and I both enjoyed camping with you and Cleadus. We didn’t get to do it very many years together but it was fun when we did. It is very hard to give up the one you have loved so many years. My prayer is that God will comfort you and your families hearts.

I only met your mother briefly, but I know she was a wonderful woman, because her character is reflected in you. Our hearts and prayers are with you as you mourn this loss. As you look forward to seeing her again in heaven, know that she’s already enjoying a reunion with those she’s mourned during her lifetime. What a celebration!

Leon and family, We want to express our condolences on Cleadus’ passing. I saw it in the Kansas City paper this morning and it brings back memories of my parents (George and Millie Marshall) and rving. I remember stopping at Casa Grande to visit my parents after we bought our new motorhome. You and Cleadus had my parents and my husband over to your motorhome for delicious lemon cake. It was with deep regret that we learned recently that Pam Teeters Phillips’ mother, Cleadus Teeters, had left this world. We were so sorry on receiving the news that she had passed on; please accept the sympathy of Pam’s alumni class and friends, Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, Class of 1972. We have enjoyed so much reconnecting with our former classmates; however, with all of the fun we have had, we also have shared the sadness of so many of us who have lost one or both parents (or other loved ones). Your family is truly blessed to have so many great memories and kind friends who knew your mother and enjoyed her friendship and talents.
