Billy Drew Lockett, 76, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away April 20, 2010, at Providence Medical Center.
Billy was born in Macon, Missouri, on October 29, 1933, to Lonnie and Bernice Lockett. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He loved dogs, surfing the internet, and eating his fair share of sweets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three bothers, and one great grandson. Survivors include his wife Mildred Lockett; his four children, Barbara Robertson, Sharon Irvine, Karen Aerni, and Timothy Lockett; and two sisters, Oleta Nichols and Linda Percel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Bonner Springs Church of Christ, 419 E. Morse Avenue, Bonner Springs, Kansas 66012.
Visitation and Funeral Service
A visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral service will be at 11 am, Friday, April 23, 2010 at Bonner Springs Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.

Jay D. Beckford, 75, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away April 20, 2010.
Jay is survived by his daughter Roxanne Flaherty and husband Pat; sons Gary Beckford and Paul Beckford and his wife Mary; grandchildren; Patrick, Britany, Ryan, Miranda, Cody, Devon, and Dylan; great-grandchildren; Melanie, Makenah, and Nathan; and sister LaVeta Osborn.

Rex Allen Rogers

Rex Allen Rogers was born in Sidney, Nebraska, on Sunday, March 21, 1948. He passed on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
Rex was, and still is a light in the universe. He had a loving heart and sparkling sense of humor, and his generous spirit touched all who knew him. Rex was spiritual, independent, witty, and brilliant. Patience was one of Rex’s sterling qualities. He understood how things worked, and could clearly and kindly explain complex situations to others.
A long-time member of the Kansas City Writers Group, Rex graciously took “class photos” and printed out the yearly holiday book. He served on the board of Whispering Prairie Press, a publications committee dedicated to celebrating local talent. He also designed and laid out the literary/art magazine, Kansas City Voices.
As a descendent of the Omaha Indians, Rex had a deep love of nature and truly honored the earth. He knew how to live in the present and how to appreciate his many blessings, including the job he’d loved at Fireman’s Fund.
Rex, survived by his wife, Jane Rogers, his son, Nate Rogers, and a warm circle of friends and family, won’t be forgotten.
Rex embraced life but was not afraid to die. His spirit of generosity, gratitude and appreciation lives on to inspire, guide and encourage all those who love him.

Services honoring Rex will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2010, at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, Kansas. A reception will follow the service.
Doris M. Wells

Doris M. Wells, 85, of Merriam, Kansas, passed on Monday, April 19, 2010, at Trinity Nursing Center.
Doris was born January 9, 1925, to the late William and Emma Boss in Kansas City, Missouri. Doris graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural High School. Doris married Ivan Wells September 25, 1949, at the Merriam Bible Church.
Doris was affectionately known as the “Mom of Mackey Street”. She was an active member of the Merriam Christian Church, and was involved with CWF at the church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ivan; daughter, Nancy McCoy and husband Wes; son Gary and wife Teri Wells; brother Edward Boss and wife Mary; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Funeral Service
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Services will follow at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Marian E. Bush

Marian E. Bush passed away peacefully April 18, 2010, at The Forum in Overland Park, Kansas.
Born December 3, 1914, at Council Grove, Kansas, to Roy and Grace Mullen, she spent most of her childhood in Osawatomie, Kansas, where she met and later married her “Fella”, J. Lucius Bush, in 1938. In 1998, after a long and happy marriage, Lucius passed away unexpectedly.
Marian was a cosmetologist for many years. She was a 75 year member of Eastern Star, Chapter 26, Osawatomie, Kansas and she is a past Guardian of Bethel 62 & 14, Job’s Daughters. She was a longtime active member of Overland Park Christian Church, participating in CWF and the Now Group.
Marian and Lucius enjoyed Slide Club, traveling, camping with the Trail Blazers and Prairie Dogs, Shrine Club, family and friends. Many enjoyed the handmade forsythia and divinity she made. She was a loving, caring, beautiful person who taught her children to enjoy the beauty of the clouds and the artistry of the sunsets.
Marian enjoyed a rich, full life, was loved by those who knew her and is survived and greatly loved by her daughters and family: Jan Eilert and her husband Ed of Overland Park, Kansas, Donna Mauk and her husband Bill of Ellisville, Missouri; six grandchildren Gary, Scott (Meggan), Jami (Mark), Christie (Donald), Shaun, Daniel; six great-grandchildren, MaKenna, Hailey, Ryan, Allison, Paige, Zachary.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Overland Park Christian Church, 7600 W 75th Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66204.

Robert L. DeCaney, Linwood, Kansas, passed away, Friday, April 16, 2010, at home. Robert retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 44 years of service. Robert is survived by his wife of 37 years Joan; a son Chris (Tammy) DeCaney; daughter Valerie (Jim) Earl; two grandchildren, Michael and Christie; 4 step children, Don (Carolyn) Quick, Ron (Janet) Quick, Teresa (Steve) Hanna, and Lori Starnes; 8 step grandchildren, Michael, Amber, Kelly, Dustin, Steven, Jamie, Amy, and Ashley.Visitation and Prayer ServiceVisitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Raymond H. Graham, 76 of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away April 13, 2010. Raymond was born April 11, 1934, in Clay County, Kansas, to David and Isabell (Grainger) Graham.
He served in the US Army in Germany. Raymond worked for many years and retired from Enron Pipeline. Raymond enjoyed playing golf and feeding the wildlife.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, by two sisters; Bertha and Jessie, and a brother John. He was also preceded in death by his son Greg and daughter Debra.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis (James) Graham; grandchildren, Nicholas and Nicole Allison, David, Josh, and Lindsey Graham; son-in-law, Kent Allison; sisters-in-law, Ilse Graham, Ramona James; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Morgan Iris Knoblock

Morgan Iris Knoblock, born May 29, 2008, in Overland Park, Kansas, received her angel wings on April 13, 2010, after a brave and courageous fight against AML Leukemia.
Although she was only here for less than 2 years, she brought such joy into our lives and to everyone she met. Morgan loved her pet dogs, Bo and Jack, being outside riding her wagon, and especially Elmo and Fragel Rock.
She leaves behind her loving parents Anna and CJ Knoblock; grandparents, Mike and Peggy Glaeser and Dennis and Linda Knoblock; as well as her many aunts, uncles and cousins. Morgan was adored by all!

Darin Brent Jupe

Darin Brent Jupe, 40, child of God, husband and father, passed away following a battle against cancer on April 12, 2010. He was a resident of Olathe, Kansas.
Darin Jupe was a successful Sales Account Executive at SKC Communications where he loved his career and colleagues. He was also self-employed with his own professional disc jockey company called KCDJ that provided music for weddings, parties and events. Darin loved sports, cars and the outdoors. He was an exceptional golfer and avid hunter. His passion focused on restoring a classic Ford Mustang to its previous glory.
Darin was preceded in death by his birth mother, Sharon Richardson Jupe. He is survived by a wife, Nicole; son, Carter Jupe; father, Jim Jupe; mother, Ruth Ann Unruh; two brothers, Brian Jupe and Ben Courtright; and sister, Shawna Jupe Atteberry.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Carter Gerrit Jupe Scholarship Fund, C/O Premier Bank, 15301 W. 87th St. Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66219, a fund to extend Darin’s legacy to the education of his only son.

Leo (Kookie) Clayton Ray, Jr., 51, Olathe, Kansas, died April 11, 2010, at the Olathe Medical Center.
He was born July 21, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Leo Clayton and Marion Rozelle (Darrah) Ray.
Leo was a strong Christian and a member of the Lenexa Christian Center in Lenexa, Kansas. Kookie saw only good in everyone he met. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. He served in the US Army.
Kookie had a strong love of automobiles owning at least 5 corvettes and many other vehicles during his lifetime. He worked for many years as a car salesman.
Preceding him in death was his father, Leo Clayton Ray, Sr. Surviving is his mother, Marion R. Ray and her husband Keith Ashlock of Lenexa, Kansas; a daughter, Hannah Duby and her husband Lindsey of Shawnee, Kansas; a son, Ryan Ray of Kansas City, Kansas; two brothers, Larry C. Ray (wife Alison) and James D. Ray (wife Ann), both of Olathe, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, Madison Duby, Ava Duby, Eli Duby, Isabel Salazar, and Achilles Jaden Ray; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many, many friends.
He touched so many lives and will be missed by so many people.
