Kenneth E. “Ken” Bauer, passed away on February 28, 2010, from complications from cancer.

Ken was an avid bowler, golfer and fast pitch softball player and was a diehard Kansas University basketball fan, living or dying with each Jayhawk win and/or loss.  He retired in 1989 from Certain Teed where he was an industrial engineer.

Ken met his future wife, Mary J. Palermo in 1956 at the Redemptorist Social Club.  They were married on June 7, 1959 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri.

Ken is survived by his wife Mary of 51 years, his 4 children and their spouses:  Michael D. Bauer and Gayla, Jerry P. Bauer and Laura, Janice M. Willard and Ron, and David P. Bauer and Heather; grandchildren, Julia, Mathew, Andrew and Kellie Willard.  Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved granddaughter Christine M. Willard.

Ken had 2 mottos, “Save, save, save” and “I’ll do it my way.”  He truly did it his way.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, 66208.
