Lonnie Ray Cannon, Sr. died on January 20, 2010 at his home in Kansas City, Kansas at the age of 68.

 

Lonnie was born in Emporia, Kansas in 1941, he was the son of Marjorie Robinett Cannon and Charles Willard Cannon.  Lonnie worked all his life as a machinist for RC Can Company and Boise Cascade.  He liked to play hard and live fast.  He was a 50’s man who never lost his passion for Chevrolet and a cold drink.

 

Survivors include his sister Eva Carol Dupuis; 3 sons, Charles Wayne Cannon (Rocky), Lonnie Ray Cannon, Jr., and Kenneth Wade Cannon; 8 grandchildren, Cole Austin Cannon, Kasey Nicole Cannon, McKenzie Rae Cannon, Katrina Gonzales Hoffhines, Henry Ingalls Cannon, Charles Wayne Cannon, Lee Everett Tuter and Lindsey Marie Tuter; 2 great granddaughters Madelyn Jane and Ellyson Grace Hoffhines; nieces Sherry Foxx Jackson and Verna Glover Whalen; nephew Charles Cannon.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Willard Vernon Cannon and Charles Dwayne Cannon.

 

We want to thank Steve Howard for the care and comfort he provided to our dad. 

 

Memorial Contributions may be made  to Kendalwood Hospice 2908 N.W. Vivion Road Riverside, Missouri 64150  in lieu of flowers.

 

Visitation and Graveside Service

 

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 21, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.  Services held at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens Cemetery, 23215 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas  at 1:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2010.

    My heart and prayers go out to your whole family! I know what you are going through me just losing my dad a little over a month ago!! I wish I could say somehing to ease your pain at this difficult time, but nothing one says can change the painful truth! Know that you will all see him again and he will be well and ready to embrace you with loving arms! You are in my thoughts and if you need anything at all please do not hesitate!
