Billie M. Carter, 75, Merriam, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice House. 

 

Billie was preceded in death by her husband Courts R. Carter in 2006.  She is survived by three daughters, Deborah (Mark) Hollingsworth, Judy Waechter, Brenda Carter; two sons, Jack Carter, Courts Carter; two siblings Carolyn Masur, Jim Moore; six grandchildren, Heather (Dave) Breneman, Barbara (Bill) Tholen, Katie, Roxy,  Kenzie Waechter, and  Cale Carter; and three great-grandchildren Carter and Clara Breneman, and Fin Tholen.

 

Billie is a 25 year Breast Cancer Survivor and a 3 year 10 months Ovarian Cancer Survivor. The family would like to thank Dr. Julia Chapman and the KU Cancer Center for the gift of life.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice or KU Cancer Center.

 

Visitation and Funeral Service

 

Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m., at the chapel.  Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.

    I, too, am a Breast Cancer Survivor and thank Aunt Billie for helping me through my cancer ordeal. She was always there for me and will forever be my hero. Aunt Billie was a Christian woman of faith and touched many lives. My prayers and love are with the family.

    i just would like the family to know what a sweet dear person Billie was.i really enjoyed her as my client for years.i had not seen billie in probably a year or so,i was just thinking about her recently.i’m so sorry to hear this news,now she’s with Jesus.love michelle bosley

    We knew Billie and Court from church. There was a time a church group met at their home. Billie and Court were great host & hostess. They made us all feel like family. We moved on to a different location and lost track of Billie. But honestly she and Court were true believers in Heaven and now they are together again, Our prayers are with their family.
