Ray was a wonderful friend of mine in the American Legion Band. I will miss his ready smile, our visits, and seeing him in the trom-bone section at rehearsals and on band trips. It is sad to know that he passed away. I regret that I didn't get to visit him after hear-ing he was ill, because I had a virus that might have been contagious.

He often called to visit in years past, and I have tapes of our band that he made for me. I am a member of Village Presbyterian Church and the chancel choir, and he often attended. He talked of his trips with Grace and Holy, which I enjoyed hearing about. Also, I liked hearing about his grandchildren.

His 90th birthday celebration was so special, and he was so proud--with good reason to be--of his family and his many accomplishments.

We had roots in common, as his hometown was Rich Hill and mine in El Dorado Springs. Our city band had played at the Rich Hill "picnic" in the summer.

I hadn't been in the band too long when your mother died but did get to share a few trips with them. I remember he had just bought her some clothing from Sachs and was very proud of her.

I have vivid memories of our band trip to Anaheim. One of them is that he was still in a shopping center when we were about to leave, so someone went to find him. I'm sure there was some teasing.

Since we are having Christmas with my daughter's family in Kirkwood today (finally, after all the snow), I came on Amtrak yesterday. I am sad that I will miss his memorial service today, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all as you celebrate his life today.

Sincerely,

Although it was our privilege to know Mr. Peterman only for the past year, he was a very pleasant gentleman whom we enjoyed visiting with. We will miss him at the SCV. We offer our sympathy & prayers to our friend Tim & his family.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Ray's family. My wife and I knew Ray through Delaware Crossing Chapter of SAR. We also attended several Medical Arts Symphony concerts in which Ray played trombone.

He will be missed by his family, friends, and many compatriots in SAR.

A rich and full life has ended.
A good man of God has gone home.
The roll book has now been amended.
For to earth Raymond was only on loan.

We weep for our loss and remember
The laughter we shared through the years.
Our hearts warmed by memories ember
Will help heal the sorrow and tears.

It was with sadness and sorrow that we learned of Raymond's death. He has been so much of a regular attendee of The Sons of the American Revolution meetings that we will miss him a great deal in the future. No matter where we were, Ray was always there and such a fine person to always strike up a conversation with! We both always looked forward to visiting with Ray and Virginia and I will indeed miss him as I know will his entire family and all the friends that knew him.

My sincere condolences to all of Raymond's family. I liked him very much as did my mother. We always enjoyed seeing him at Hall family renunions.
