Agnes S. Leader

In Memorial

Agnes S. Leader, 92, Prairie Village, Kansas (formerly of Laramie, Wyoming) passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 at Brighton Gardens, Prairie Village, Kansas.

 Agnes was born February 23, 1917 in Hanna, Wyoming to Frank and Jeane (Raite) Amoss.  She attended both the Universities of Wyoming and Minnesota and received her bachelor’s degree. On September 18, 1937, Agnes married Daniel Leader in Hanna, Wyoming. Agnes was a member of the Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters, the auxiliary at Ivanson Memorial Hospital, Laramie, Wyoming and was an active volunteer in the community.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel on July 15, 2008.  She is survived by her daughter, Jeane Leader Petersen and her husband, Don, Lenexa, Kansas; two grandchildren, Daniel Petersen and wife, Kristin, Leawood, Kansas and Laurie Pieken and husband, Russ, Overland Park, Kansas; and four great grandchildren, Glen and Jack Petersen and Joseph and Norah Pieken.

 

Visitation and Funeral Services

 

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 10 at Trinity Anglican Church, 3920 W. 63rd Street, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208.  Friends may call from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.  Graveside service will be Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Green Hill Cemetery, Laramie, Wyoming.

    Dear Jeane and Don:
    My prayers are with you both at this time. It’s hard to lose our loved ones and sometimes hard to understand. You Mom is in the hands of the Lord now and he will take very good care of her and she won’t have to suffer any longer. I will be praying for you that you find peace with her passing.
