Anna Jean Maloney Reyner, 86, Lenexa, KS; passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 at home. Anna was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Lillian (Dutchie) Brimer, Scheloski; two husbands John Maloney, and David Reyner. Survivors include three step children Robin (Robert) Whelan, and family, Poplar Bluff, MO; Mark (Daryl) Reyner and family, Los Lunas, NM; Doug (Lynn) Reyner and family, St. Louis, MO; a sister in law Betty ( Maloney) Walstrom Overland Park, KS; nephew Mike (Danna) Maloney, Overland Park, KS; niece Lu Anne (Dick) Montgomery, Olathe, KS; niece Sharon Maloney, Prairie Village, KS; Kathy Cooper Daschke, and family, Shawnee, KS; and numerous other family members. Anna is a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, an avid golfer, and a member of many organizations through the church and many social organizations.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2009 at The Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church or Catholic Charities.

Dorothy G. Imboden

Dorothy G. Imboden, 85, of Lenexa, Kansas passed away Tuesday evening, September 15, 2009, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Dorothy was born August 17, 1924 to Willard and Helen Grimm in Trenton, New Jersey. Dorothy was a member of Overland Park Christian Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her family and spoke several foreign languages. Dorothy married Wiley P. Imboden February 16, 1946 in Trenton, New Jersey.
Wiley preceded her in death after 60 years of marriage, in October 2006. She is also preceded in death by a sister, a brother and one great-granddaughter, Maia Tucker. Survivors include two daughters, Janice Lyons and husband John, Mt. Ayr, Iowa, and Susan Diebold and husband Jim, Lenexa, Kansas; sister, Barbara J. Moyer; brother, Webster Grimm, both of Trenton, New Jersey; two granddaughters, Angela Buisch, Shawnee, Kansas, and Shannon Tucker and husband, Michael, Lawson, Missouri; one grandson, James Eaton and wife, Wendy, Gardner, Kansas; and 7 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Overland Park Christian Church; 7600 W. 75th Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66204.
Memorial Service
A Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, September 18 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Private interment will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
M. C. Russell

M. C. Russell, 85, longtime Overland Park, Kansas resident, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009.
M. C. was born August 29, 1924 in Lisco, Nebraska, the son of Marion Clay and Minnie Mae (Wescott) Russell. He was a veteran of World War II and wounded in the Phillipines in 1944. On March 5, 1951 he married Ruth Hole. He retired from Hallmark Card Company in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Hazel Compton and Ellen DeMetz. M. C. is survived by his wife, Ruth; brother, Charles and his wife Eva Curfman of Nashua, New Hampshire; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Overland Park Christian Church, 7600 W. 75th Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66204.
Visitation and Funeral Service
Services will be held Friday, September 18, 2009, at Overland Park Christian Church. Visitation will be from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, Kansas.
Marilyn (Mossman) Mitchell

Marilyn (Mossman) Mitchell was born May 3, 1944, in Cleveland, Missouri and peacefully passed away on September 13, 2009, at the Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by family.
Marilyn spent most of her life in Shawnee, Kansas. Marilyn was a loving wife for 47 years, a dedicated mother, a softball coach, Halloween costume maker, incredible knitter and an avid fan of racing, the Royals and the Chiefs.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, M. Leon Mitchell; two children, Michele (Mitchell) Omundson and 1SG Kevin Mitchell; son-in-law, CSM Eric Omundson; “favorite” granddaughter Mallory; grandsons, Kevin and Zachary Omundson; mother, Helen Mossman; and brothers, Dan and Tom Mossman. She was preceded in death by her father, Omer Mossman.
Visitation and Graveside Service
Please join friends and family in celebrating Marilyn’s life on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 6-8:00 p.m., at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2009 at Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie, Kansas.
Martin Zacher

Martin Zacher, 82, of Roeland Park, Kansas, passed away September 11, 2009.
Martin was born October 15, 1926, in Marian, Kansas, to Joseph and Karolina Ilgmeier Zacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his son Martin Zacher, and by a brother, George Zacher, and by sisters Bertha Manger, Mary Olstead, and Freda Romey. He is survived by his daughter Sharon Miller and husband Doug, by his son David Zacher, and by his granddaughter Stephanie Miller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Martin was a proud member of St. Agnes Catholic Church for many years. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Services will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at St. Agnes Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
Elma Mae Hess

Elma Mae Hess, 95, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away September 10, 2009.
Elma Mae was born October 14, 1913, in Beaver, Kansas, to Anton and Josephine Klug Reif. She was raised in the Beaver area, graduating from Beaver High School. She was united in marriage to her husband of 69 years, Urban J. Hess. Elma was a devoted homemaker and wife. She was also a proud member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society. Elma was a member of the National Association for Family & Community Education for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brothers Alfred and James Reif, and by a sister, Leona Rube. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Alfreda Hess of Fredonia, Kansas, and by 20 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation and Funeral Services
A visitation will be held Sunday, September 13, 2009, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, Kansas, followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas.
Mary Jane Zarda

Mary Jane Zarda, 79, of Merriam, passed Friday, September 11, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born January 9, 1930 to Ernest Conn and Mellisa Jane Conn in Merriam, Kansas. Mary graduated from Shawnee Mission North. She was an avid amateur home decorator and a meticulous house keeper. Mary was a nurse at Shawnee Mission Medical Center for 17 years before retiring in 1995. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary always said that looking into the eyes of a baby is like looking into the eyes of God.
Mary is survived by her four sons, Ed Zarda, Jr. John R. Zarda, Kerry Zarda, and George Zarda; one daughter, Dawn Zarda, three sisters, Margie Garner, Frieda VanWalleghem, Jean Ward, ten grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.

Maria Michelle Steinnagel, 55, of Shawnee, passed away Thursday morning in Kansas City, Missouri.
Maria was born October 22, 1953 to William E. Zarda, Sr. and Mary Jane Zarda in Kansas City, Kansas. Maria attended St. Joseph and Shawnee Mission North High School.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Klaus Steinnagel, father, Willliam E. Zarda, Sr., two sons, Jerry K. West, II, and Richard Anthony West, and a sister Mary Kathleen Zarda. She is also preceded by her two loving cats, YoYo and Truffles “Little Girl”. Maria is survived by her Mother Mary Jane Zarda, Merriam, Kansas; one sister, Dawn Marie Zarda, Olathe, Kansas; Four brothers, William E. Zarda, Jr., (Dorothy), Shawnee, Kansas, John Zarda, Sr. (Janet), Merriam, Kansas, Kerry B. Zarda, Merriam, Kansas, George Zarda (Michelle), Lenexa, Kansas; and two grandsons, Jerry West, III and Miles West.

Cecil A. Baker

Cecil A. Baker, 88, Olathe, Kan., passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009, at home. He was born July 23, 1921, to Guy Wesley and Hazel Marie (Isenhart) Baker in Russell, Iowa. He was a veteran of the Air Force during WWII, a member of Teamsters Union Local #41 and Olathe Christian Church. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Kathryn, and three brothers, Cleo “Bus”, George, and John. He is survived by his wife Ruth of 66 years; two daughters, Barb Collins (David), Mary Beth Dagit (Lee); one son, Frank Baker (Karen Hansen); one sister, Lena Susort (Carl); nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation and Memorial Services
On Saturday, September 12, visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m., at Olathe Christian Church, 1115 S. Ridgeview Road, Olathe, Kan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Olathe Christian Church, Crossroads Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association Heart of America.
