So sorry to hear of Elma Maes passing. My parents were Larry and Tillie Reif of Odin. I remember Urban and Elma Mae visiting my grandparents Alois and Anna Reif of Odin and also visiting the family farm north of Odin. My father passed away April of 2006 and Mother September 2007. Myself, husband and our two children moved to the family farm in 1996 when Mom and Dad moved to Hoisington. I am proud to be the next generation on the Reif Family Farm.
Again our sympathy at your loss.

My name is Carol Gaster. I came to know Elma at Sweet Life. She lived across the hall from my mother Gwen. I spoke to her often over the past months. I am also sending a message from the ladies at her dinner table. I know each one truly enjoyed their meals together no matter how bad they were. Please accept theirs’ and my sympathy. Helen, Gwen, Carol, and Melba.
Dear family members:
Elma Mae was a friend of my mother’s when they lived at 62nd and Ballentine in Shawnee. I didn’t realize that Elma had died till I saw a notice in the St. Joseph bulletin. She was a great friend to my mother and she would have us kids in for a treat or sometimes lunch. She had the best treats on Hollaween. She was such a sweetheart. Urban and Elma Mae welcomed my parents when they first moved there and help them settle in. She’s with my mother now. Bless you all.

Aunt Mae was truly a wonderful women. Growing up, she wasn’t like a great Aunt to me but more like a grandmother. I really do miss her and even though it’s been over a year, I still think about her all the time.
