William C. Mechelke

William C. Mechelke, 90, Lenexa, Kansas passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 at the Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center, Shawnee, Kansas.

 

William was born June 12, 1919 in Stillwater, Minnesota to William F. and Hazel (Tranter) Mechelke.  He married Margaret P. Schroeder, August 8, 1942 in Englewood, California.

 

William was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret on July 14, 1992.  Survivors include his son, William P. Mechelke, Lenexa, Kansas; daughter, Linda Ann Mobley, Shawnee, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jessica, David, Steve, Josh and Paul Mobley and Martha Weidner; and two great granddaughters, Carina and Serenity Weidner.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Hope Lutheran Church Organ Fund.

 

Visitation and Funeral Service

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Hope Lutheran Church; burial in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2009 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.

    Mobley’s, My deepest sympathy for the loss of Opa. All of my kids have such wonderful memories of him while they were at your house. He was an excellent example of Christian father, Grandfather and leader. I know all of you have found comfort knowing that he is with his Lord. God Bless
